TiVo Integrates Amazon Prime Video App Into U.S. Pay TV Set Tops
TiVo has announced that the Amazon Prime Video app has been natively integrated into “select TiVo devices” deployed with U.S. pay TV operators.
According to the technology company, “millions” of U.S. pay TV customers can now say, “Find the show with John Krasinski” into their TiVo Voice Remote, and the Amazon Prime Video original series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan will appear before their eager eyes.
Prime Video content also shows up in OneSearch, the search tool on TiVo devices that scans across live TV, on-demand and other streaming video apps.
As for which TiVo devices are subject to the app integration, it does appear that the Bolt, Roamio and Mini set-tops already have native integration of the Prime Video app.
Meanwhile, TiVo has been offering set-top integration of Netflix and YouTube to operators including Grande Communications for some time, as well.
“By making the Prime Video app available for select TiVo pay TV operator customers, we are able to further expand the number of people that can enjoy Prime Video’s popular movies, hit TV shows and exclusive Amazon Original series as part of a seamless viewing experience,” said Andrew Bennett, director of worldwide business development for Amazon Prime Video.
