Tour Time for OLN, CBS, Fox
Outdoor Life Network -- which is partnering with CBS Sports and Fox Sports
Net to cover the 2001 Tour de France -- announced Monday that it will run two
hours of exclusive, daily live coverage of the July 7 through 29 cycling event
with the exception of the last three Sundays, when CBS will cover it.
On those Sunday evenings when CBS carries the race, OLN said it will offer
two-hour primetime shows recapping the day's doings. In addition, OLN's Web
site, OLNTV.com, will be the official U.S. Internet partner with LeTour.com, the
official Tour de France Web site.
The third Tour partner, Fox Sports Net, will air 15 half-hour weekday
highlights specials.
The big story going into the race is American Lance Armstrong pursuing his
third consecutive title.
