Trump Buys Out NBC ‘Miss Universe’ Share
Presidential candidate Donald Trump said Friday he has settled his lawsuit with NBCUniversal over the Miss Universe pageant and has bought out NBC’s share of the franchise.
Trump, in a Friday morning tweet said that he “Just purchased NBC’s half of The Miss Universe Organization and settled all lawsuits against them. Now own 100% — stay tuned!”
Trump earlier this summer sued Univision after the network refused to air the July 12 Miss Universe pageant following fallout over remarks about Mexican immigrants Trump made campaigning for President.
The Miss Universe pageant – which Reelz Channel eventually aired live – as well as the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants were joint ventures between Trump and NBCUniversal.
