TV Land Greenlights Three New Series
TV Land Thursday confirmed it will add three new original series to its programming lineup next year, including How’d You Get So Rich?, a Mark Burnett project featuring Joan Rivers.
The network will also debut First Love, Second Chance and Make My Day as part of its freshly augmented primetime lineup.
“We are thrilled to work with some of the most influential television producers in the business to bring these new dynamic original series to TV Land PRIME,” TV Land president Larry W. Jones, president, said in a statement. “From romance reignited and carefully planned coincidences to riches revealed, we are sure that these shows will resonate with our audience.”
How’d You Get So Rich will feature Rivers travelling the country to find out how wealthy people got their riches and—more importantly—how they spend their money. It’s executive produced by Mark Burnett of Survivor and The Apprentice fame. The half-hour show is currently scheduled for six episodes.
First Love, Second Chance, according to network officials, gives long-lost sweethearts an opportunity to rekindle their romance. Whether it is unrequited love or a relationship that ended badly, the couples decide if it is worth giving it another shot after all these years. Based on a British format, the series is produced for TV Land by Granada America Entertainment (Celebrity Fit Club and Hell’s Kitchen). Paul Buccieri, Drew Hoegl and Andrew Singer will serve as executive producers for the six-episode, hour-long series.
Make My Day uses hidden cameras to capture the action as contestants are put through a series of wonderful and weird coincidences in this new series also based on a British format. “Extraordinary situations and surprise appearances from celebrities, friends and family members allow the show to provide a window into one day in the life of an unsuspecting participant,” TV Land officials said. The Series is produced by Embassy Row (Who Wants To Be a Millionaire) and is scheduled for six, half-hour episodes.
