Verizon Expands its NFL Mobile Play
Expanding on its NFL mobile exclusive, Verizon Wireless announced that all current and legacy price plans will include live streaming of Sunday local NFL games as well as Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football matchups. That also includes mobile streaming access to NFL Network.
Verizon said there’s no extra monthly charge for the NFL element and that the app is free to download, though cellular network data usage applies.
Ahead of the new season, Verizon Wireless subs can also watch live preseason games, including tomorrow’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphin, and the game matching up the San Diego Chargers with the San Francisco 49ers, which will both be carried on NFL Network. However, preseason national games are subject to NFL blackout rules, the carrier pointed out.
NFL Mobile is available to all carriers, but mobile access to live streaming of local Sunday games and other weeknight matchups are exclusive to Verizon’s mobile subs. Verizon also offers NFL RedZone for $1.99 per month during the regular season.
