Verizon, TBS Ink Carriage Deal
Verizon Communications Inc. Wednesday announced a programming-distribution deal with Turner Broadcasting System Inc.
When the regional Bell operating company’s Verizon FiOS TV service launches later this year, its lineup will include TBS, Turner Network Television, Cable News Network, CNN Headline News, Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, CNN International, CNN en Español and Boomerang.
TNT in HD will also be included as part of the pact.
“We are pleased to partner with Verizon to further expand their FiOS programming lineup and enhance their customers' viewing experience with the addition of Turner Broadcasting's extensive collection of top-rated content,” Turner Network Sales executive vice president of sales and marketing Coleman Breland said in a prepared statement.
Verizon FiOS TV VP of programming and marketing Terry Denson added, “Our customers will enjoy the quality programming from Turner Broadcasting that appeals to so many different types of viewers and continues to sustain top-of-the-charts ratings with TNT, TBS and CNN.”
