VH1 to Honor Hip-Hop Pioneers

published VH1 said Tuesday that it will pay tribute to the pioneers of hip-hop with its VH1 Hip Hop Honors, set to air Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. (EST/PST).
DJ Kool Herc, DJ Hollywood, KRS-One, Public Enemy, Rock Steady Crew, Run DMC, Sugarhill Gang, Tupac Shakur and The Graffiti Movement will be recognized at the event, which will be taped Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.
Vivica A. Fox and Emmy Award-nominated Mos Def will host VH1 Hip Hop Honors, and performers and presenters will include Ice T, Kid Rock, Fat Joe, MC Hammer, Grandmaster Flash, Nas, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Sugarhill Gang, Chic and Afeni Shakur.
