VH1 Sounds Syndicated 'Saturday Night Live' Deal
VH1 has brought the fun and musical fanfare of Saturday Night Live to weekday afternoons.
The network has scored a multiyear syndicated pact with NBC Universal Domestic TV Distribution for the past 10 seasons of the late-night stalwart. Deal terms were not disclosed.
After premiering on VH1 Oct. 2, the SNL installments are airing weekdays in their regular time slots of noon (ET/PT), 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
VH1 and SNL are both known for presenting the best in musical entertainment on television. Some of the musical guests that will be featured on SNL episodes over the past decade include: U2, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Taylor Swift, Shakira, Beyonce, Coldplay, Green Day and Kanye.
VH1 is promoting the current week's episodes via SNL's "Weekend Update" segment.
