‘The Walking Dead’ Kills on Twitter
Sunday’s season premiere of AMC’s zombie-themed series The Walking Dead scared up a lot of social media chatter, according to Nielsen.
The zombie-themed series generated 611,000 tweets last night, reaching a unique Twitter audience of more than 5 million users to lead all TV entertainment shows, according to Nielsen’s Twitter TV Ratings.
ABC’s drama series Once Upon A Time was a distant second with 50,000 Tweets reaching 622,000 unique users, followed by a trio of cable TV shows including E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Showtime’s Homeland and HBOs The Leftovers.
CBS’ New England Patriots-Dallas Cowboys NFL Football game was the most tweeted sports event on Sunday, generating 444,000 tweets viewed by 5.6 million Twitter users, according to Nielsen.
