WE: Women’s Entertainment signed an acquisition agreement with Sony Pictures
Television for 46 episodes of Ned and Stacey and 55 episodes of The
Naked Truth.
The half hour comedies will be stripped weeknights beginning Oct. 20 as part
of a new comedy block on the Rainbow Media Holdings Inc.-owned women’s-targeted
network. Naked Truth will launch the block at 6:30 p.m., followed by
prior acquisition Two Guys and a Girl at 7 p.m. and Ned at 7:30
p.m.
Ned and Stacey stars Debra Messing (Will & Grace) and Thomas
Haden Church (Wings) as two strangers with completely opposite
personalities who not only become roommates, but make a deal to pretend to be
newlyweds.
The Naked Truth stars Téa Leoni as a quirky reporter who struggles to
balance a budding career and a demanding personal life.
