WE: Women's Entertainment is producing 90-minute documentary Tammy Faye: Death Defying, which is scheduled to air in July.
The documentary chronicles former televangelist Tammy Faye Messner's battle with and ultimate survival of inoperable, stage-four cancer.
Death Defying follows Messner from diagnosis to treatment to her successful cure.
Documentary filmmakers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato of World of Wonder -- who recently created and produced award-winning documentary The Eyes of Tammy Faye -- are producing Death Defying.
“Tammy Faye's style, faith and humor offer a uniquely dramatic perspective on a difficult topic," WE director of production Roseanne Lopopolo said in a prepared statement.
“We are especially honored to give WE viewers the opportunity to become reacquainted with Tammy Faye by witnessing this charismatic woman's personal and poignant medical struggle, the support from her solid marriage and her life following the tabloid headlines,” she added.
