WE tv Locks Up New Season of ‘Love After Lockup’

WE tv has renewed its reality/documentary series Love After Lockup for a second season, the network announced Friday (Feb. 9).

The series, which chronicles couples who have found love when one partner was behind bars, has grown its audience since its premiere across all major total viewer and adult women demos in Nielsen live+3 ratings, according to WE tv executives.

The 10-episode second season will debut in 2019, according to network officials.

“The success of Love After Lockup demonstrates that a great concept, executed well with characters and stories that resonate with viewers can still break through the clutter,” said Marc Juris, president of WE tv in a statement. “The organic growth we’re seeing from week-to-week has been extremely encouraging and validates the potential we saw for this series from the beginning. We are so pleased to be moving ahead with an expanded second season as we head to the dramatic season one finale of a show we hope will do ‘10 to life’ on WE tv.”
