For those who dig 'The Duke,' Starz Encore Group LLC's Westerns Channel is
the place to be May 26.
The network will celebrate the late John Wayne's birthday with a seven-film
marathon, highlighted by its first airing of True Grit, for which the
actor won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of U.S. Marshal
'Rooster' Cogburn.
Westerns' Wayne marathon begins at 1:05 p.m. with West of the Divide
and also features such Duke fare as Dakota, In Old California,
The Shepherd of the Hills, Winds of the Wasteland and The
Comancheros.
