While plans for its wrestling-centric cable network are still in a holding pattern, World Wrestling Entertainment executives should be ready to soar soon in the programmer’s new corporate jet, according to Securities and Exchange Commission documents filed Monday.
WWE Jet Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of WWE, secured a $31.6 million loan with RBS Asset Finance for the aircraft, a 2007 Bombardier Global 5000 which the company purchased on Aug. 7. According to the SEC filing, the loan carries an annual interest rate of 2.8% and matures on Aug. 7, 2020. About $3 million of the loan proceeds have been held back for renovations to the jet. The company said it will continue to use an aircraft it has owned since 2000 while the new aircraft is renovated.
The Bombardier Global 5000 – according to the loan documents the plane is a Model BD-700-1A11, like the craft pictured above – is an ultra long-range corporate and VIP high-speed jet aircraft produced by Canadian manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. The Global 5000 can fly close to 5,000 nautical miles non-stop at Mach 0.80. According to the SEC document, the WWE aircraft seats 15 passengers, has a forward galley and includes among its amenities a global office with LAN connections, two multi-region DVRs and two bulkhead mounted 21.3-inch LCD monitors.
