WWE Slips in Fiscal 4Q
World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.’s results for its fiscal fourth quarter ended April 30 were down slightly versus the prior-year period.
The company posted net revenues of $118.3 million compared with $126.7 million in the year-earlier quarter.
Operating income was $22.5 million versus $32.8 million in the same quarter last year, while net income fell to $16.1 million, or $0.23 per share, from $19.7 million ($0.28).
And earnings before interest, taxes, debt and amortization fell to $25.4 million from $36.3 million in the previous-year period.
“In fiscal 2006, our focus will be on new and emerging businesses, such as our WWE 24/7 SVOD [subscription-video-on-demand] service, the expansion of our digital-media product, theatrical films through WWE Films and our new WWE Legends initiative that uses former superstars as the basis for new product lines and activities,” WWE CEO Linda McMahon said in a prepared statement.
