Paramount Pictures and
Nickelodeon announced Tuesday that the World Wildlife Fund will tie in with
The Wild Thornberrys Movie, which hits theaters Dec. 20.
Paramount and Nick named the WWF
as the official beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from the family movie's
Los Angeles premiere Sunday, Dec. 8.
In addition, the movie's Internet
site (http://www.nick.com/all_nick/movies/wildthornberrys/index.jhtml?&TimeZone=0)
will feature the WWF's famous panda logo on its home page, plus a link to an
information page giving the WWF's Web address (http://www.worldwildlife.org/).
During the week leading up to the
animated film's theatrical release, moreover, Nickelodeon's U Pick Live
-- a two-hour show airing Mondays through Fridays at 5 p.m. -- will host a
weeklong "Go Wild Week" tribute to The Wild Thornberrys Movie.
During
that program, youngsters can log onto www.wildthornberrys.com to participate
in a scavenger hunt, which will help to generate donations to the
WWF.
