Verizon Communications began building out the digital all-fiber-optic infrastructure for its FiOS high-speed-data and video services in Chesapeake, Va.
The telco already offers FiOS Internet and TV services in Hampton Roads and other areas across Virginia.
Nationwide, Verizon offers FiOS Internet service in more than 1,700 communities in the 16 states and FiOS TV service to more than 400 communities in 10 states.
